Standoff on Columbia Street

On my way home from the Veterans Day ceremony this morning, I came upon this traffic jam on Columbia Street just above Fifth.

A gravel truck was heading east, an ADM truck was heading west, and, with the north side of the street parked solid with cars, the two trucks could not get past each other. The gravel truck had to back up until its rear end was well beyond the intersection with Fifth Street to allow the other truck to go by.

As the gravel truck continued on its way back to the quarry for another load of aggregate, I noticed this sentiment inscribed on the tailgate: "I Love A Good Dump."
