How Long Must We Wait . . .

for more chocolate in Hudson and its positive effect on our serotonin levels? Christopher Norman Chocolates wants to open a chocolate factory in the former Sacred Heart Church on North Second Street, but to do so requires a use variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals. The ZBA had scheduled a public hearing last Thursday at 6:30 p.m., after which they would hold their regular meeting and decide whether or not to grant the variance, but the public hearing had to be postponed because the ZBA needed a recommendation from the Planning Commission and Planning Commission had canceled their meeting the night before.

So, it seems the Planning Commission will have to call a special meeting on Wednesday, August 17, to make the recommendation, so that the ZBA can hold a public hearing and have their meeting on Thursday, August 18, to decide the fate of the Christopher Norman Chocolates factory in Hudson. Stay tuned.
